Hannah Montana Defiled

Miley Cyrus has gained popularity since she starred as Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana. Being the star of the most watched show by kids her name had landed on headlines. Last week, alleged nude photos of the 15 years old singer have circulated the internet. She was depicted in a provocative way, with a picture of her exposed midriff and lying across her former boyfriend’s lap. Fingers are pointed to Vanity Fair’s photographer, Annie Leibovitz as the culprit.

In defense of the singer-actress, people close to her claimed that though she appeared not wearing a top, she was actually clothed during the pictorial with a tank top in flesh hue. The hint of green seen in the photos speaks for this. Despite of it being established as maliciously edited, Miley Cyrus was apologetic. She says the pictures were really inappropriate and silly. She expressed her gratitude to those who did not readily judge her and in fact issued support. Much retraction is needed to be done since those photos will be detrimental to Hannah Montana. A wholesome image is fundamental in order to be a good example for children watching the show avidly. Speculations about her being banned from show were fast spreading at the grapevine.

Miley Cyrus Still a Star

All those gossips about Miley Cyrus’ stardom were put to a stop when Disney Channel issued a statement of support for her as well as a condemnation for Annie Leibovitz. The Disney Channel said she would remain to be Hannah Montana and that the network stands by her. In spite of being under fire, she would still be the center stage performer during the Disney Channel Games on Saturday. In addition to that, her concert sponsored by the network will be pushed through.

It will serve as a culmination to a weeklong charitable event to be held in Orlando. An announcement was also made that the Hannah Montana movie adaptation will start filming next week in Nashville. They are positive that the audience at large would not be dismayed by such a big manipulation and lie. The Disney Channel’s stand on the issue shows that their faith in Miley Cyrus as the Hannah Montana superstar has not wavered. She may have received criticisms from some but even more have backed her up.
